Chocolates at Almost Isla!

Friday we received one of the most yummiest gifts we have ever gotten. A box full of candies and chocolates from, owned by Vasilow’s Confectionary in Hudson, NY.

We had the pleasure of trying some of their delicious candies and we just have to tell you about them.

Let’s start with the chocolates because, well, who doesn’t love chocolate?

This delicious piece of chocolate is called one of the Mayan Calender Bars that Vasilow’s offers, this particular one was the Ixchel Chili Pepper chocolate bar, and it actually tastes like there’s some chili pepper in there! The chocolate is so smooth and creamy, and it’s just perfect. Some of the best chocolate we’ve ever had, and we know our chocolate 🙂

This lovely chocolate bar is dark chocolate with little krispies in it. Oh is it good! Not only is it good, it’s huge! yum yum yum.

Many of you know Maria the peanut lady, who sells peanuts and pepitas on the beach, and that is who inspired this delicious treat! A little bit spicy, and very delicious, if you’re in the mood for some pepitas but you aren’t on Isla, this will definitely hit the spot!

These are so yummy, we’ve been having trouble keeping our hands off of them. This is the Punta Sur Peanut Brittle and it’s So good. Peanut brittle on it’s own is always delicious but when you add in a dash of cayenne pepper and some crushed cinnamon squares it makes it even better!

These little doggy treats are covered in carob to make a sweet but safe treat for the pooch. Our little pest is a picky one, and he eats these up like their the best thing he’s ever had. We haven’t tried them ;-P but if he likes them, we know they’re good.

All of these yummy goodies and more can be found at All of their products make great gifts! Or if you’re just in the mood for a little bit of Isla, any of these delicious products will hit the spot!

Seriously, try them out 🙂

I had the pleasure of going to their store twice last fall & am planning another excursion now that the snow is almost melted! i bought some stuff for gifts–chocolate covered pretzels and twizzlers, several flavors of malted milk balls & more. And even more for myself–pepitas, peanut brittle, the chocolate discs & more. My favorites are the peanut brittle & the choc. dipped ginger & apricots–the fruit doesn’t make it back to my house!
